Hello CC! I just received an email from UM and was invited to apply to this M-STEM Program. My "quick" search of this program tells me that it's a program for incoming undergraduates who come from low-preparatory high schools, which holds true from my school especially. Does anyone have any recommendations on if I should attend this program? I still have to apply for it, so maybe someone can tell me their acceptance rate as well. Any more information would please me greatly. For those who don't know, here's a general overview of their program that they sent me.

The M-STEM Academy is a two year program consisting of a summer transition-to-college program, year-round intensive academic coaching and advising, assistance in obtaining paid summer research opportunities or corporate internships between the freshman and sophomore year, and mentoring by upper-level students. In addition, a $3,000 incentive stipend will be provided. Program requirements include full participation in the 6-week summer transition program and attendance at mandatory academic sessions and advising, participation in group study sessions and meetings with mentors during the academic year.

It seems interesting enough, but perhaps someone would like to inform me about the other parts of this program if someone has already participated in this program.

Thank you all!
