So i got into the M&TSI thing a couple days ago...

How do colleges look at it and how competitive was it to get in? Does it help when applying to Penn?

See you guys there

How do colleges look at it and how competitive was it to get in? Does it help when applying to Penn?

See you guys there

i applied two weeks ago and im waiting for the decision… how long did it take to get yours? i think it helps a lot… like 80 percent of the kids at least who have done it the last 3 years ended up getting into penn

about 3 weeks…

I have a solid gpa and a 2330…

and a couple aps and only 800 math sat II.

Does it help for M&T specifically?

M&TSI has no bearing on your admission to Penn, or M&T for that matter. M&TSI is for your own benefit… if you want to see if the combination of business and engineering at Penn is really something you want to venture into. A lot of students who do M&TSI are fairly strong students to begin with, so the entire pool is already a bit self-selective.

But, just to make it clear, M&TSI doesn’t have any impact on your application.

Did any of you guys also apply to LBW?

if so, which one would you pick? given that you get into both ;)

Applying for M&TSI shows a general interest in both the subject areas and the school. I could see admissions officers looking favorably at this, but it will not make or break your chances.

I attended M&TSI last summer and am now going to Wharton (didn’t apply to M&T). You can PM me if you have any questions about M&TSI, pros, cons, and how it correlates to Penn admissions the next year.

going to m&tsi certainly shows that you have a vested interest in their program, so i can’t see how it wouldn’t be a positive addition to your app. anyway i got accepted too so i’ll see you in july!
