I’m majoring in Public Administration right now, and my college allows me to do 9 hours of graduate classes in my undergrad major that could eventually go toward an MA in Political Science. I’ve thought about getting an MPA someday as well, but being able to get a MA in political science in less than a year with these undergrad/grad crossover classes is enticing. My question (for those with experience in this) is regarding the practicality of an MA in poli sci. What are the employment opportunities like? The website describes that it’s for those who are interested working in all levels of government…but would an MPA be much more useful? I’m just not sure if this would be a waste. So, in a nutshell: What is the practicality and opportunities with an MA and poli sci? // What are the big differences between an MA in poli sci vs. an MPA when it comes to jobs?
Thanks!
