<p>I think these are early writes. Macalester has sent these out in the past, but this is a bit earlier than usual.</p>
<p>It makes sense that Minnesota students would get early writes from Mac in some cases, as those students will likely have other great offers of admission in-state.</p>
<p>i don't think that they are early writes...i just got accepted today, and my letter just said that they had finished reviewing my app and were sure that i would still be in the admit pile at the end of march when the rest of the decisions were made. on the mac forum, people received likely letters that said they were the creme de la creme, my acceptance letter did not say anything like that. also, my stats, in case you were wondering are prolly in macs middle 50%, high 600 low 700 sats, (but will really crappy sat ii, 590 math 610 french) but i am in the top 1% of my class. </p>
<p>getting into college when you least expect is seriously, the BEST feeling in the world, and you may indeed get a letter early.</p>

<p>That's the language of an early write, and makes clear that RD decisions are NOT out yet for the great majority of students who will be admitted. </p>
