Well here is my situation.. a depressing one to say the least.
Today I got rejected/waitlisted to 4 of my top choices- Columbia, Brown (w), Cornell (w), and U Penn. I got into NYU 4 days ago and Macaulay Hunter. My predicament is which one to go to?

I'm mostly likely going down the pre-med path (like countless others) and was wondering what the pros and cons of both of these schools were, and how it could effect which med schools I get into.

Note: NYU is notorious for not giving complete financial packages, and I only received 28k out of the 55k+ that I need including dorming and other living incidentals.

Macaulay @ Hunter and its not even close. Why are you considering saddling yourself with over a 100k in debt if you know you want medical school down the road. I know countless kids who have gotten into top med schools coming out of Macaulay at Hunter (Downstate, Upstate, NYU, etc.). Hunter will in no way impede you from getting into top medical schools. Don’t think that because it’s Hunter the courses will be easier because they aren’t. Additionally, in many regards you’ll come out better at Hunter. Priority registration will mean that you’ll get the best profs, the best courses, and the best sections. In my experience (given from what I’ve heard from friends at NYU) you’ll also have much more faculty interaction at Hunter, something pivotal to getting into med school. PM me if you have any questions.
