Macaulay - rescinding acceptances?

Hey, this post pertains to not just Macaulay for City College but to all seven Macaulay campuses. Sorry if it's in the wrong place, I couldn't find a general CUNY forum.

So there's this one English course that I really hate because I do not learn anything at all in it. I could go on and on about why, but basically, my school refuses to let me drop it (even after a meeting between the principal and my parent) and I want to just not attend and get a 55. This class is NOT required for graduation. I calculated my projected, weighted final average and it would be about a 91 (3.6). Unweighted, 83 (2.8) (oof).

I haven't gotten my Macaulay decision yet, but I think my chances are fair. My question is: if I am accepted and write them a long letter explaining why I didn't complete this course, do you think they'll look the other way? It's really not about slacking, it's the fact that this course is not enriching me in any way and that my school thinks it knows what is best for me more than my parent does. All of my other classes are APs and I plan to keep my grades as high as possible in those. Also, my school tries to pass this class off as a college class (don't ask), but I know for a fact that Macaulay does NOT give credit for this course, so I don't think they really care about it.

Here are my stats:
-SAT: 2220 (M + CR = 1420)
-500 hours of community service
-Editor of school newspaper (the paper is award-winning and I've won a couple of awards myself)
-Average: 93 (3.8) weighted, 92 (3.7) unweighted (at a Top 100 in the nation high school)
-have various other extracurriculars (peer educator, a couple of seasons of track, etc.)
-Caucasian female

I need to decide what I'm going to do ASAP, so timely responses will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
