some of my friends are trying to talk me into self studying Macro and Micro econ with them, since they claimed that's it's easy, but i don't know how reliable they are. they also say that you might as well study both of them together.... Is that true?

Macro is easier than Micro, because the latter involves a lot of graphs. If you're not a math person, just take Macro. Both are easy, and i'm sure you wouldn't have much trouble self-studying them. Good luck!

Both are very easy, but there's not reason why you would need to study both of them together. There's not really a tremendous amount of overlap between the topics, and the deal where you could get both AP tests for the price of one no longer exists.

So Macro would be a better choice? Do you guys have any suggestion on study materials?

Interested in this myself, come on people! What study material should we go for here?

Get the textbook by Gregory Mankiw. That's all you need.

Hum, that seems great, but I don't have 70 bucks to shell out on just one book :/.

There's graphs as well within Macro. Mostly simple math though. I'm in a macro class right now, but Im self-studying for micro as well.

Can you opt to do both Micro and Macro AP exams? I'm currently in an "Economics Honors" class since there are no AP classes available in econ at my school.

another thing I'm afraid of is that there's only 2 month...

I thought Macroeconomics by David Blanchard was a better economics book; more advanced and it had better (realistic) examples. Mankiw book is decent but I hated how it kept going back to the 10 principles, really really annoying.
BTW if you get an older edition book they generally cost <$20.

MANKIW!
or 5 steps to a 5

get the 15th edition of Economics by McConnell and Brue and amazon. I think I got it for $30. And PR and the John Morton student workbooks are handy too. I'm self-studying macro and micro. Almost done.
Good luck! :)

I just finished learning Micro today. Im a sophmore, and Im planning on doing macro and stats next year. And then for senior year, ill prob do calc and one other, hopefully ill look devoted to Econ, which i am, and ill get accepted to yale lol...

But, do you guys think that ill be prepared enough if i used kaplan and princeton review books just to study? I also got mankiw but i havent read it at all. Any input would be nice

Kishin if you have mankiw, are a sophomore, and have time, why not read it??!!?

I personally haven't looked at PR/Kap but if you feel that your prac scores are consistently satisfactory, then you're good to go.

is it possible to start the study now?

bump.......

I'm taking AP micro on flvs. Has anyone ever take it on flvs????
