Made the wrong college choice! HELP!!!

I’m going to be starting my first year at UCLA soon and I’ve realized I made a huge mistake…I’ll leave the story out but although classes start in only a week (call it crazy) but is it possible to transfer schools from UCLA to UC Davis this close to the year? Can I possibly apply to attend Davis in the winter?! HELP!!! I’m barely gonna start my first year, is this possible?!

Did you get admitted to both and picked the wrong one or did you only apply to UCLA? It may make a difference in how it is handled. Either way, I would call up both schools and ask your question to someone in authority, you can’t be the first student that wants to transfer and there must be a policy to handle it.

I was accepted to both! I’m having a panic attack about this all!

I was accepted to both UCLA and UC Davis. I rejected Davis for all the wrong reasons only to find out I should’ve attended. Is it still possible for me to transfer considering classes haven’t started yet?

No one can tell you if it is possible to switch schools at this point. You need to contact UC Davis and explain your situation and you only have 3 days left before classes starts. The UC’s do not take lower division transfers nor Winter transfers, so you will probably have to stay at UCLA for 2 years and do a UC-UC transfer, consider taking a Gap year and reapply for next Fall or attend a CC for 2 years and TAG for UC Davis.

It seems to me that you are having anxiety issues about the start of classes. Take a deep breath. Ask someone (like maybe your RA or advisor) about who to talk to about your anxiety issues. I’m sure you’re not the only UCLA freshman who is having panic attacks. I’m also sure there is some sort of resource for that. Maybe try the UCLA forum too. No school is perfect but UCLA is a fantastic university that lots of kids would love to attend. You owe it to yourself (not to mention your parents or whoever is financing your education) to give it a chance.

you were very lucky to get into UCLA…what possible reason could you now feel that it is a mistake?

What “wrong reasons” did you reject Davis?

I think you’ll regret not going to UCLA in the future.

OP, hang in there. School hasn’t started yet, and there will be fits and starts as you settle in. I know another freshman who is also questioning things, but that’s totally normal. Give it a little time and I bet things will feel a lot better.
