So I am applying to the Rice/Baylor medical scholars program and as you know the submission date is December 1st.

My question is, do they need to have my supplement that day ( for the program supplement, no school ) or just postmarked before that. Also, does the same apply for test scores, transcripts, and school forms?

If you print a label off of the USPS website (priority mail) it also comes with tracking and delivery confirmation (Priority flat rate envelope = $4.75). It does require setting up an an account, but it is fairly easy to do.

We tracked all our packages just be sure they got to the schools. In one case, the USPS had delivery confirmation, but the school claimed to have never recieved my D’s pre-screen tape. Since we had the “confirmation” we were able to send in another tape (past the due date) and they still accepted it.

Which brings up another point, check with each of your schools to be sure they received/processed your stuff. Stuff gets lost!

With so much mail coming into Admissions something is bound to get lost or misplaced.
Having Fedex tracking will give to proof you got it in the system by your deadline and will have a chance to resend if necessary.
Don’t forget to make copies of everything you send in, in case, you need to Fax a copy of lost documents.
Tracking it from the Fedex office to the college gives you and your parents peace of mind.
Keep all Fedex paperwork and receipts.
