Major and Minor careers

Hi do you guys think a major in international studies with a minor in econ from Umich is a good decision? What career can I get with this degree? Do you guys have any other suggestions for Majors/minors that I should look into?

Some math/stem would definitely make you more sought after in the job market. Do you have any idea what you want to pursue in the future?

Think PLACE (the core group you can employ your area of study), then PASSION (where your heart takes you). How about the other way around? Econ with international studies minor?

You can do anything you want that is not skill-based (like engineering, computer science, or nursing). What would distinguish you would be your internships. What are you interested in? What careers do you think about?

In answer to your question, these are the types of things that could be open to you without a graduate degree: Journalism, advertising, consulting companies, investment banking, politics and government, market research, product marketing, international aid, nonprofit work, sales, … anything

Uofm21, how can anyone answer this question without knowing anything about you. It might be a good idea to call the lsa admissions office and talk to a counselor. They are all very nice and might be able to guide you in a more appropriate direction. There are combinations of majors and minors that you are most likely not even thinking about. You can even create your own path (major) that is not even listed on the websites.
