i want to go to biology field...i've gotten a 5 on AP bio..and 740 SAT II bio. However, my AP bio teacher retired and left for spain. I was wondering if I can get a recommendation from my current AP chem teacher (previously my chem honors teacher). my Ap chem teacher is the nicest guy too. Will this work out? or should I think about putting natural sciences (undecided in a way) as my major? Will it look weird if I don;t have any achievements (no SAT II chem or AP chem score) and have an AP chem teacher write a rec for me?

I'd say you should still try to make contact with your old teacher - ask around in the department and see if anyone has any contact info. If you can't, its nothing to stress over. Your chem teacher should be fine - he's had you in class for over a year and is familiar with your abilities and such.

good grades/scores do not equate good recomendation. what matters more is how well the teacher knows you and how much they can add to your application. though it looks best for a bio teacher to write your rec being a prospective bio major, it probably doesnt matter which science teacher writes it. bio majors need to take a bunch of chem too, so if he shows that you are a good chem student, it wont hurt

It's not uncommon to major in one thing, and get a recommendation from a teacher who taught a completely different subject. If you know this chem teacher and think he can write a good rec, then ask him to do it.
