Major Changed...But Not Accepted?

I signed up for Environmental Studies and Business Admin as my my majors...however, today I checked my status and saw that major was changed to general studies. I know this have happened to people who are accepted to the university but not to their college of choice. But, I'm still on step 3 (my application is still being reviewed). Do you guys know what this mean?

P.S
My term was also changed into summer...so instead of saying fall 2010, its now summer 2010.

looks like they are going to offer you the summer Gateway plan. I didn’t see your stats for admission.
[Gateway Program](http://gest.tamu.edu/gateway/default.aspx)

Aggie Gateway to Success (Gateway) is a provisional admission program at Texas A&M University that is administered through Texas A&M University General Academic Programs. Gateway students are given a unique chance to gain full admission by taking summer courses and proving how well they can do academically. Each summer, over 300 of the 20,000+ Texas A&M applicants are offered this exclusive opportunity.

Students will attend a 6-week summer session at Texas A&M. Dates: June 29 – August 11.
A summer course schedule will be assigned to the students by the Gateway Program Facilitator based on their intended major, previous course credit, and strengths or weakness reflected in students’ test scores. This is a prescribed program. Students may not select their own courses.
Students will take two solid academic courses (3 credit hours each) and STLC 289 (1credit hour) to finish the summer with 7 credit hours at Texas A&M University

So if I don’t do too good at the summer program…am I going to be rejected? I don’t want to take chances and reject other universities if there’s a big chance I’m going to be rejected at the end of summer. What I’m really asking is, what happens if I fail the summer program requirement? Is Blinn team an option?

Think of it this way.
If you fail the summer program you have no business at A&M. I think you have to pull a 2.0… again - if you can’t pull a 2.0 you wouldn’t make it at A&M anyway.

Blinn team is a whole different program - you could spend 2 years with the majority of it at Blinn… the offers for Blinn team go out at the very end of the acceptance process.
I think you have a better offer.

you should do the gateway program if A&M is your top school, because it shouldnt be hard to get the 2.0 or 2.5

when you do that, you usually take one pretty easy class (educational psychology when i was there) and two others. IMO summer school was WAY easier to get good grades in … you HAVE to go to class and you HAVE to keep up.

and i agree with the others. if you can’t make it in the summer provisional, then a&m isn’t the place for you.

blinn or blinn team is a good option too.

can you transfer sooner if you do blinn team - like after one year instead of two??

here is the [Texas A&M Blinn TEAM Program](http://blinnteam.tamu.edu/) requirements. It does sound like there is a procedure for transferring before the 2 year mark. But it is an automatic admission if you do complete the TEAM program.
