Ok
guys
lets not beat around the bushes, yeah?
I just received my grades for spring semester soph year.
It's catastrophic. Oh my god, it's so disgusting. I have no idea what to do. . yeah, I screwed off this year. * *** ****.

But there's this lady who is my mom's friend, and she told me that as long as my sat scores are stable I won't have a problem but I never showed her my grades and stuff, so she really doesn't know much.
But still, I'm curious. Would I still have a chance at getting in UC's if my grade's are bad?
Like, serious bad. But I'm still a soph and summer's here. I'm getting a job and going to volunteer at hospital. Joining the school newspaper next year (junior year) and joining the school district newspaper (LA Youth).

i said schit… seriously.

Riverside and Merced might still be options for you. You’re only a soon-to-be junior, so relax! You still have two years to screw yourself up (just kidding).

But in all seriousness, you’re not out of the ball park yet IF you show academic improvement in junior and senior years. However, if it doesn’t work out for you in the end, think about going to a California community college first, then transferring into one of the UCs. Cali CC goers have the advantage in the UC transfer admission system.

if i go to CC, my parents will bury me alive. no kidding. or skin me alive. whichever they prefer. Moreover, i would have to go through ALOT of pain. yep.

It’s not about where you start, but where you finish. It’s too bad that CC is not a viable option for you, though it will likely help you to get into one of the UCs eventually.

By the way, tacking on more ECs to “compensate” for your academic hiccup is not the best solution. You just need either to focus more or choose classes that are more reasonable for you, or both.

thnks
that eases my mind, a little
sigh
