So, I took all these GE classes that pretty much just stacked my transcripts and classes that I have taken. I have taken some really unnecessary classes that doesn't really pertain to my major.

My question is, will there be like a different perspective for the colleges in terms of GPA. Like I'm currently going for a Linguistics major and I'm just taking my Linguistics classes, all four available in two colleges, now. Will the colleges look only at those classes separately rather than my overall GPA, including the humanities/unnecessary that actually made me accumulate some C's.

Coz seriously, I have a C in Dance History, I don't need that for anything.

they look at both the major and cumulative GPA. But of course, i’m sure major GPA will be a more significant basis of admission assessment.

So I really should pay much attention on my linguistics classes because somewhere down the line, my major classes will factor in more?

yep. I don’t know how they weigh major GPA relative to the cumulative. but the way I see it, don’t give them a reason to reject you. Don’t slack off in classes that don’t matter just because major GPA matters more. But also don’t do the vice versa

NO. I didn’t mean I’m going to neglect other classes. It happened already. I got some really bad C’s out there, partially my fault for over-extending, except for that Dance History, the professor had no right to teach at all.

I wasn’t implying that you were.

I was just trying to say try your best in all your classes this semester to offset your few C’s
good luck with everything.

Thank you very much. And I am taking 29 units just to catch up on my GPA.
