So, I'm trying to decide on a major. My favorite (and my best) subject is math. I also really like computers. The things I want in a career are the chance to create something, opportunities of promotion, and a six figure salary. I don't want to be stuck in a room with a computer by myself, but rather working with a team of inventors and eventually being the manager. What should I major in? I'm willing to get a Ph.D. if that's what it takes for the salary requirement.
Right now, I'm thinking a computer engineer, an animator, or a math major. But you can't create a product or film with a math degree... To be honest, I don't know anything about being a computer engineer or an animator. Can anyone help me?

Most math majors have a second major in a field in which they are interested in working. According to careerbuilder.com the best paying jobs in the six figure range are doctors, pilots, corporate executives, and electrical/mechanical engineers. If you want to be part of a creative team and don't mind spending a long time in school engineering may be the way to go.

Computer engineering is not going to get you where you want, at least not as long as h1B program continues without regulation. If you don't know anything about animation then you are probably not suited for it, everyone I know in animation has been passionate about it thier whole lives.

If you like math and computers, and want to make good money, software is supposed to be a decent way to do that. They always rank fairly high on salary indices - not the highest, fine, but not bad.

And you say you like making stuff? Knowing how to write software is fun because you can make anything you can imagine. If you can think it, you can make it...

You may want to look into CS / SE. I love it.
