So I was admitted to CAS ED....I know its almost impossible to transfer from one school to another within Penn, but can I minor in a school I'm not in?
I sort wish I had gone ED to SEAS instead of CAS...could I potentially major in CAS and minor in SEAS since transferring isnt really an option.

Transferring between CAS and SEAS is definitely possible. It’s transferring into Wharton that’s a pain in the ass.

I agree with the above poster—definitely look into transferring. Internal transfers get a bad reputation because people kill themselves trying to transfer from CAS to Wharton, but most people don’t realize that transferring between CAS/SEAS/Nursing is not nearly as hard as transferring into Wharton. It won’t exactly be easy but its far from impossible.

haha its easy to do i heard because tons of students transfer in and out of those colleges. For ex. I got into SEAS and wanna go to CAS. switch with me? :P

I’m planning to major in physics but am really interested in condensed matter physics which overlaps with materials science. Recently when I was looking on the college website I found this [url=http://www.college.upenn.edu/majors/engineering/index.php]Engineering Major/url Apparently now people in the college can double major in engineering. But if you just wanted to do engineering, you would need to transfer.

You’d be at an advantage if you got a dual degree instead of just transferring. Why waste your freshman year when you could use it to complete two degrees instead of one? It is very possible to get a BA/BS from the College and a BSE or BAS (or something else) from SEAS
