"Major" Problem (Get It)

Well I got into Syracuse's Pre-Med program at their CAS, and decided I'd be going there in the fall (sent my deposit in and everything).

Well now I'm a little unsure about whether I want to pursue a career in Medicine. Lately (since I sent in my application) I've been leaning towards graphic design. And Syracuse is one of the top notch Universities when it comes to the Visual Arts, among other things.

The thing is that I Know the Medical Field really brings in the "dough" and in comparison the Visual Arts is a pretty unreliable career (This is only compared to Medicine, so please do give me the "correction posts")

So basically my heart is leaning towards anything in Graphics (primarily animation and game design), But my brain (and pockets) are telling me to go for Pre-Med.

I know that the "fairy-tale" answer is to follow my heart, but I live in the real world and becoming a doctor will give me a perfect foundation for the rest of my life. Also, I would love both careers equally, it's just that the road to becoming a doctor is A LOT harder, studious and LESS FUN, than getting into the visual arts.

Thank You to anyone who replies.

I just hate going to a doctor who wishes they were doing something else. Medicine is too dificult a path for one who doesn't have his or her heart and soul in it. Stay in premed and take some graphics courses. The answer may show it self. You haven't even started, don't obsess.

Can't you major in graphic design/ visual arts but take the premed requirements (bio, chem, o-chem, physics, calculus, english)? You don't have to major in science to go to med school.
