I'm wondering what I should major in if I get accepted to Vanderbilt as I know they don't have a pre-med program?

Major in anything you want. You do NOT need to major in a science, unless that is your passion. Study whatever you love. I majored in French and have been a Cardiologist for he last 12 years. BTW, there is no such thing as a premed program at any school. Premed just means that you took the prerequisite classes that medical school require. Good luck!

People tend to major in something science related as it’s a logical approach (pre-med courses would count towards your major) but as PsychoDad said you can major in pretty much anything.

Pretty sure the consensus out in the grad school world is that all majors are on an equal standing. Majoring in something like chemistry wouldn’t give you an advantage over someone majoring in Political Science (in theory).

You can major in anything but it becomes a scheduling issue. You need pre med required classes. The new MCAT will add sociology, psychology and biochem so you will want to take these classes. Physiology, anatomy, biochem, genetics and microbiology are not required but will help you for the first 2 years of med school. Good luck
