Major transfer to UD

I would be transferring as a Political Science major from a CC (two years of college credits will be completed by the time of transfer)this coming Fall 2011. I have a 3.0 GPA with an "A" in Intro to Politics and a "B" in American Federal Government class. I have two recommendation letters from a head psychology professor and doctor in Philadelphia and another letter from my township's Mayor. I did internship with our assemblyman this past summer and added all of this to my essay and application.

What would my chances be as a transfer student? I'm not sure if Political Science is a high- demand field at UD that would make my chances much harder. From UD's website the transfer minimum into political science is a 2.0GPA. Any opinions or comments? Thanks.

I know someone who just transferred in for the current Spring Semester from a small college he was unhappy in. He had completed 3 semesters and also is a Political Science major. He actually missed the deadline for Spring '11 applicants but they had room and accepted him. His stats, I believe, are similar to yours. He does have a brother who is currently a student at UDel but I have no idea if that makes a difference.

I’d say you have a decent shot at it. Just try to keep your current semester’s grades up there. I don’t think Political Science is considered high demand, given they had room at the last minute.

Ok, thank you for your response handemom! My current grades are up to par. Just waiting to hear anxiously.
