Majors and Christian College

Are Christian Colleges only for students who want to pursue ministry and Christian-related careers in the future, or are there certain Christian liberal arts colleges with 50+ majors like biology, physiology, english..etc.? Also, how is a college certified as being a "Christian College"? Is there like some sort of requirement for the core curriculum to have one semester of Christian learning/beliefs? Or are christian colleges, christian because of the great amount of praying/worshiping that goes on?

Most Christian colleges have all sorts of majors just like their secular counterparts.

Colleges self-identify as being Christian and often have a statement of faith. Some are supported by various denominations. Others are not. Christian views can vary from Protestant Ultra Liberal to Protestant Ultra Conservative as well as Catholic, Mormon, & everything in between.

How much they require students to take - or even if they require a student to be a Christian varies by the college. How much students on campus can be identified as Christians by their “lifestyle” varies as well.

Is there something in particular you are looking for? The list I just posted is for Protestant Christian colleges. If that interests you, feel free to look at the website of a couple of them to see what they say. Otherwise, google your beliefs and colleges and see what comes up.

Seminaries tend to be just for those wanting a deeper study in scriptures or those going for a pastor/minister title.

If you are looking for Christian colleges, check out the CCCU website. There will be a list and you can see what colleges are in the regions you are interested in. They range from Bible colleges to more selective Christian liberal arts college.
