majors & schools in NU help please!

okay so for the past two years i have been saying i want major in mass communication (some form of journalism) and double major or minor in international affairs.

for my common app for northwestern i don't know what to put
as far as i can see it only gives you the option of applying to one school and you cannot put in a secondary option

i originally put in medill. however medill is one of the tougher schools at northwestern to get into to.

i have also always said i want to change the world and make an impact.now im torn.

for my major and school choice

should i put
-medill for journalism
-learning and organizational change- at SESP
-school of communication
-judd A. and Marjorie Weinberg college of arts and science for international relations

i know once accepted into the school it is easy to organize double majors and such but what should i put on my commonapp and what ones would be the easiest to get into help asap please!!

I cant really tell you what to put because that is your choice. But from what I have heard from places on cc and my friend who goes there, SESP is the easiest to get into. However, if you feel very much for journalism instead of international affairs, then do journalism. I had a similar situation with UMICH and Columbia. People told me that UMICH engineering is the hardest school in michigan to get into, but I took a chance and trusted my gut because I really want to do chemical(nuclear) engineering and double major with biochemistry. IT paid off when I got in a couple weeks ago. However, the Columbia engineering school is notorious for being very, very difficult to get into. My aunt would graduated from there recently told me that it is most likely the hardest engineering school to get into in the country. She told me it would be much, much easier if I applied the the college in biochemistry and then widdle my way into some engineering courses so i applied as she said. The obstacles were just to stacked against me for Columbia engineering and I do not want to cost myself admissions. Anyway, just go with your heart because you are spending a stage in your life there, but also be able to recognize if the obstacles are way too high.

I’m applying to Northwestern too. From what research I have done, I do not think that NU medill is impossible to get into like Columbia engineering. If you want journalism, let it rip

I would apply to where you want to go most. I think all this “is easiest to get into” may be slightly true, but I’m sure they have some sort of safeguards to keep everyone from applying to an easier school then switching or something.

thats the thing. I was set on medill but the more i look into things the more i get confused and no i am lost and i dont know what school to put i want to be in all four. before i was completely set on writing but over the last year journalism/international affairs/ making a change in the world have all kind of become equal. so i am completely and totally lost as to what school i should i apply to within northwestern

bump bump :)
