How about a look at everybodies majors

Me: Gov, rel or classics

philosophy, english, psychology, chemistry, or some foreign language. But philosophy is the most tempting to me right now.

philosophy and economics - but my parents don't want philosophy because they're afraid i won't be able to do anything with philosophy

History and Economics

gov and int. rel, wooHOO, WHAT now

I applied as a French major, but I am going to doble major. In what, I don't know yet.

Here's what I'm thinking about, though: philosophy, government, or international relations.

wow...Im really suprised by the number of prospective philosophy majors

Right now I'm thinking to double up with Classics and either Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry

Does anyone know if Dartmouth offers a major is Genetic Engineering?

I'm thinking I'll major in math and minor in econ or some other math application. And I want to learn Russian (or enough to go there for a semester anyway)

newo, as a native speaker, I can tell you, Russian ROCKS. But I wouldn't advise going to Russia unless you're Christian...my parents left at ages 14 and 18 respectively b/c of a really huge and horrible anti-Semitism problem.

History major and considering a psych minor.

Bio, i spent two weeks during the summer at a dartmouth program and managed to hook up with a bio professor there. The conversation went slowly until i asked her about her research, at which point i was treated with a 45 minute private lecture about the professor's research on female aging and precisely how it may cause an increased rate of birth defects (and also some possible solutions for this problem). It was, shall we say, kickass? Anyway, i am still unsure about the resources at Dartmouth in bio compared to some of the other ivies... if anybody has any information about this it would be appreciated :)

History and Econ. (parents don't think i can do anything with History) or English (which I know I would love). And a minor in Chinese. fun stuff.
(Law school is the plan)

Int'l Relations/Gov't + French

Yay! French! :)

I'm obsessed w/the language. I speak so much at home that my parents are sick of it. . .and I know Dartmouth's French program is really good, so I'm excited :-)

Me too! I hope I get in... And D's French dept. really IS amazing.

Sometimes I think to myself in French- it's fun. Wow I'm nerdy. :p

omg! me too!

It is a great relief to realize that I'm not the only dork who does that. Sometimes I get frustrated with the rest of the population for not speaking it along with me. . ."What's with all this ENGLISH?". . . :-)

Btw, Calidan, I just read the HotIvy thread. Nicely handled on your part. Wow. . .just, wow.

Haha thanks, sourire! I think I've made a lot of friends on CC simply by my posts on that thread. ;)

Are you in AP French? I think it would be really cool if we both end up in a French class together (which is very probable!).

hey frenchies~
I hope to minor in french too! :) What about those awesome study abroad in France, they seem really cool and worthwhile. Has anyone been? What was your experience and would you recommend it?

Fountain,

there must be some sort of genetics major. :) I recall reading about it in the viewbook (correct me if I'm wrong).
