<p>Your major has little to do with your chance. You "chance" will have to do with your current and past GPA, SAT/ACT scores, your level in your high school, your non-academic involvement, your application essay...........and a lot more things.</p>
<p>The only criteria for a certain major would be if that department requires you to have grades or specific courses above and beyond the colleges' requirements. For instance, Chemistry at Harvey Mudd College might require that you complete certain lower level college courses prior to taking a Chem class.</p>
<p>And yes, chem at some schools will be difficult, but that's true with most science or engineering degrees.</p>
