Well the title does say "make me feel better" and thats all they were trying to do. I was gonna say something nice but now since your being a ing *** all i have to say is:

HAHA YOU GOT REJECTED FROM ALL YOUR TOP CHOICE SCHOOLS AND NOW YOU HAVE TO SETTLE FOR FOURTH CHOICE LOSER!!!!!!!!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I know people who got into SD and got rejected from SB...but that could just be yield protection shrugs

Anyway...I think it was a little preemptive of you to tell those 2 "screw you", since...you know, they were just telling it like it is. I got rejected from the top 3 too, so...kinda know how you feel. I'm trying to decide between SB and Davis right now.

excitedscared...if you were saying that the "i have a few friends who got accepted by SD, but denied by SB" was an excuse, I'd have to clarify that it's really not. If you'll notice, I said after that, "that could just be yield protection" which means, basically, maybe SB knew they were too good and didn't want their yield stats to be too high, and so rejected them.

There's no need to degrade an idea by labeling it an excuse, particularly when it's true.

I dont know why you are so bitter about getting rejected by UCLA and UCB because your numbers aren't that great. No admissions aren't all about numbers but with yours you shouldn't have had such high expectations.

Well then you obviously should have more to show for your high school years than that lousy GPA and horrid test scores.

Maybe if you spent less time selling your body to community service for college and were studying/spending time with a 10 real SATs book instead it might have made for a better outcome.

The goal of college admissions and screening is to create as diverse and potentially successful a class as possible. They're not going to admit someone with crappy numbers because they have a lot of community service. That would be more of something to put on a job application for boys and girls club. You're trying to get into a school and theyre trying to tellyou that it's too fast paced or youre too dumb - simple as that.

I'm a little bit sick of people complaining about how they got cheated out of their top school because admissions committees aren't out to screw you over. Despite what you may think, they know a lot more about their school than you do and are keeping people out they know would be in way over their head.

I don't know what you want from this board, MK. You want people to make you feel better but clearly do not wish to go to any schools but those you were rejected from. My advice would be to go to CC for two or three years and transfer into your dream school. I agree with the other posters that the other UC's are great and you should be happy you got in, but there's no reason to settle for something you don't like.

I'm choosing UCSB honors over CAL if it makes you feel any better. I visited CAL yesterday and even tho I'd love to go to a school with CAL's name recognition, I love the SB campus.
