Making friends at community college?

I went to my orientation today, and I noticed that a lot of people were sticking to the groups of friends that they formed during high school. I didnt have time to stay for the barbeque they had afterwards, but im a bit worried because I really want to make friends this year and come out of my shell. It seems like most people weren’t interested in making new friends?? I dunno, I guess I’ll see how it really is this monday when I start school, but I certainly hope thats not the case. I’ve started emailing clubs and whatnot because even tho im shy, Im willing to do things to socialize and meet new friends.

Is this the case in most community colleges?

I go to community college. You can make friends with people in your class. Classes are smaller at community college. Most community colleges don’t have dorms or cafeterias but mine has a cafeteria so that helps. Your best option is make friends with people in your classes! I’m sure you’ll make at least 1 friend in one of your classes.
