Can colleges see a “D” even after it is made up for in summer on the the transcript? Or will it just show as repeated? ( planning to do summer school school to make up for sem 1 “ D”. Hoping for summer grade “A”). No replacement offered - only averaging at my school. Thanks in advance
Ask your guidance counselor how it will appear on your transcript.
You cannot “make up” for a bad grade. Every bit of information on your transcript is a piece of information about your record. You can add more pieces of information and hope that the favorable pieces of information outshine the negative bits. One thing you should understand is that the D is just one grade in one class so although you cannot make up for it, you shouldn’t get yourself crazy about it either.
Depends on your school district. As @happy1 suggested, ask your GC.
If you got a D in geometry and then re-took it and got an A or a B, it shows that you now know the information.
You must ask your school. At my school students are not allowed to retake courses that they have already taken. The grade is the grade.
Our school allows you to re-take classes in either the summer or next school year. Only the grade received on the re-take will show on the transcript.
