Since there a lot more women in the school, would it be easier for a male to get into the school?

Yes, statistically-speaking guys do have a slight edge in the application process at Vassar and at most (if not all) liberal arts colleges.

Why would they have an edge in liberal arts college?
Is it because most of the applicants are females?

Indeed. (10 char)

Men often enjoy slightly higher admission rates (perhaps 2%-5% higher) than reported admissions statistics. For example, at Tufts, I believe the admissions rate is about 24%, yet all men who applied enjoyed a 28% admissions rate last year.

It varies from college to college, but at most highly selective LACs, men definetely have a higher chance of admission, especially at a place such as Vassar, which was once a women's LAC and now battles a more precise gender ratio of 61% female, 39% male (yes, essentially 60-40). While this is a common ratio of most colleges, Vassar is still interested in coeducation.

Now, imagine Sarah Lawrence...I can assure you men enjoy a very nice admissions rate there. But that's another story.

All of this to say, yes, men have a higher chance of admission at Vassar.
