So I'm going to be starting my freshman year at Northwestern as an engineering major, and I was wondering if there are any management consulting internships for freshmen/sophomores. I understand that firms like McKinsey, BCG, etc., usually don't hire Freshmen and Sophomores (Although McKinsey has a sophomore consulting opportunity, but that's only for URMs) even if they're from consulting-target schools like Northwestern. My cousin actually works for McKinsey in NYC (he's an engagement manager); could I leverage that connection to yield an internship? Any feedback is appreciated.

Top 3 usually only hire juniors. But you can try for smaller firms sophomore year which will give you good experience.

Go after mckinsey!! Get great grades and some on-campus activity experience while leveraging your cousin !!!
