I have just discovered the APS recently. I didn't know this existed yes I know hard to believe. I still have somemore years left to go in HS, but I am interested in reading as many Lit and Contemporary books as possible. I have alot of the classics on my list, but I was wondering about some books that most people haven't ever heard of that could be on the APS and contemporary books of course. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

For the most part popular classics are the one's that you find referenced the most on the AP Lit test, such as when they give you the list on the third essay choice you will most definitely find at least one of the following: Jane Eyre, Don Quixote, Wuthering Heights, Crime and Punishment, Great Expectations, Invisible Man, The Stranger, A Tale of Two Cities, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Hamlet, Tess of D'Urbervilles, Anna Karenina, War and Peace, etc. So really any big name books are the ones that tend to be most important though at the same time they don't penalize you for vague pieces of literature as long as they have some merit, though some that come to mind are One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Storyteller, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Song of Solomon, and so on, though now that I think of it did I even answer your question, oh well.
