Many options to consider - NROTC, USNA (Prep) and USMMA

I'll be the one sitting under a tree, eating chocolate and telling LFWBDad's kids that its ok to get IN the fountain. Then I'll sit back & take photos while he's trying to fish them out.

Ballstamom, to better prepare you for Parent's Week-end, sleep the whole week before you go. There will be none for you that week-end. There were parents laying all over the place sleeping. I saw one poor Dad sleeping on a picnic table and a poor Mom sprawled out under a tree on a blanket she'd just purchased at the gift shop. If I had to guess, there were about 20 people just sleeping all over the place. Mostly due to crazy flight times and long drives. They keep you hopping from seeing one thing then moving to another. It was too fun! And very very emotional. And nope, I never slept. Dunkin Donuts coffee will keep you going for three days!

I will be at the Mid Atlantic Parents tent selling t-shirts. LFWB will be at sea.

The girls will be in Manhattan shopping with their mom.

Well fine Mr.! I only wanted to let them make a little mud like big brother. I woulda cleaned 'em up before I gave them back. Geez. Maybe I won't have time to buy one of your t-shirts now. Maybe I might just use all my t-shirt money on the 2010 Plebes instead. ;)

Jamzmom: you NEED one of these Tshirts - it has the biggest US flag on the back and every time I wear it - walking or working out (ha) I always get into a fun discussion about KP. Buy extras for all your friends (and chocolate washes off).

Heck, I thought you'd take that as an invitation. I'm sure you could teach them about Bergdorf's.

LOL. You don't have big enough closets in your house for me to teach them the rules & regs of shopping. I've never seen your house but I'm 100% sure of it. You'd have to add on an entire wing when I finished with them. Also, don't you think you should invest in a few acres? I think its time for some ponies. :)

Weski, I promise to buy atleast one. I have a collection going of USMMA t-shirts. Even the EMT guys hit me up last year. That one looks really official & I thought about wearing it to the next concert or sporting event to see if it will get me in.

Ballstamom: congratulations to your son on USMMA!! It is a great school- and JM can tell you all the great places around here for a chocolate fix!! Yesterday was so beautiful on LI- and there must have been 100 sailboats out from KP!! Wish I had a camera with me- maybe next time!

And to that I can only add:
<a href="http://www.lazarschocolate.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.lazarschocolate.com/</a>
Did you see the new truffles!? OMG!! They next day hand deliver to KP and my Mid gave them a eight thumbs up. Easter is coming! We thank Navy2010 for providing that little bit of info. How's my Annabelle, that little darlin'?

JM- she is just too cute...all 2 pounds of her now!! What a fluff ball!!! She is back at our daughter's dorm, so only get to see her every-other-weekend when she comes home for her next set of shots!!!

The latest report is that she learned to "sit"......and to "come"....but that she only does when you have a treat in your hand- what a smartie pants!!! Will have to try it out with those new truffles....I might even come for those!!!!!

And you won't believe what we found down at USNA....a little navy cheerleading outfit just her size with a big "GO NAVY" on it.....just couldn't resist!!! She is just too delicious for words!!!!

OMG you two are too much...cheerleader outfit indeed! Ha Ha...do you have one in JM's size? HA HA HA HA...

I think they do -- <a href="http://www.harbourstores.com/shipsstore/shop/kids/kids008.jpg%5B/url%5D">http://www.harbourstores.com/shipsstore/shop/kids/kids008.jpg</a></p>

You guys should think about doing stand up comedy. Yea. Thats what you should do cause you're just so funny. Ha... Ha.... Ha....
Besides, this is what dogs are for. They like it. Navy2010, post pix when you get her next!! Dying to see if she has grown into her little beard and eyebrows.

Ballstamom, see what being an academy parent does to you? Makes you insane.

Try being a Mid, or worse, an ALUMNI! :D :D :D

JM- no beard and eyebrows yet....but she has got the cutest little top knot that sports bows and feathers and all sorts of sparkley things.....and the cutest little tee's.....and the pet shops have taken over trips to Nordstroms and Lord and Taylor- who unfortunately don't have a doggie dept-

ps...LOVE the cheerleading outfit- leave it to LFWB to find one for KP.....and if this diet of mine ever shrinks me small enough to squeeze into one, I might even consider a GO NAVY for myself- (on second thought........ )

You all are just too funny! I get such a kick out of reading all of your posts but they do scare me a bit too. I thought with my son leaving high school that all of my years of volunteering and committe work would be over but it looks like I'll be getting very involved at KP. (although I do have a daughter in 7th grade and I'm still involved on that end as well).

Curious...we're trying to plan our last family time before we drop Michael off for Indoc and I was wondering if anyone knew when the official drop off date was yet.

FRIDAY 7 JULY INDOCTRINATION - Class of 2010 reports 0700-0930

Got this from the official regimental calendar on the parent's web page.

I knew I could count on you!

AND... Until you receive that lovely logging in booklet, you might want to go the the link below and read every link on the left hand side. It is all must know info. Good stuff! Thats where I got the regimental calendar. You can kind of glean what a year at USMMA looks like. The Plebe parent tips are priceless too. If you have any more questions, we'll all be around. Have fun reading!

<a href="http://www.usmma.edu/parents/%5B/url%5D">http://www.usmma.edu/parents/</a></p>

Hi Ballstamom......before Indoc you will probably receive info from your local parents assoc. concerning the "welcome aboard' event, dues, etc. BTW, the "welcome aboard" barbecue by our local parent group was wonderful and very informative.

I had to laugh when I read your post regarding volunteering as a KP parent...I ended up volunteering to be our assoc. secretary for next year, and somehow just committed to attending the "All Academy Ball" meeting...I guess i have trouble saying "NO!" Seriously though. I think it could be lots of fun as well as staying somewhat in the loop. My daughter is in high school now but somehow I am still co-chairing committees and voluntering there too...guess, this doesn't end for awhile.

Don't know if you've booked your hotel for Indoc but here is a link...
