March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

yea depending on the curve that could be like 760ish or 720ish...but almost def about 700

150 WPM? Psch, that's nothing.

I could hit 160 APM (Actions Per Minute) on Warcraft 3 if I really wanted to.

Well, if they did knew, they wouldn't be too happy.

I got 5.5 for one of the math also... I think my center was (1,2)?

I got the creative prompt. I could have sworn that I did the majority prompt for PR's last diagnostic though... Perhaps someone already noticed, but I skipped that post? How curious. I wish I had gotten the majority prompt. I wouldn't have ran out of time and finished in the freaking middle of the sentence then. Grr...

what did you guys get for the 0<x<y something < 25 grid-in math question?
i got 2.5.

was there an experimental math section, yes or no?

What's that?
And 'sides, 150 isn't my max.

wow, SAT math is suppose to test how diligent you are, it has no purpose in testing you math skills
and to programmer1324, you said SAT is about beating the test, i don't mean to offend you, but if you can't even do SAT math, then you have to beat math courses in school first!

So what do you think the curve is going to look like?

I was sweet and took Columbus as my history fact, the Impressionists as my arts fact, and The Crucible (the salem witch trials) as my literature.

Verbal was EASY.

Yes, it's 2.5.

i don't think theyll grade you down for that...as long as you write well. plus galileo agreed with the copernican theory and was imprisoned for that so it's an easy mistake to make..and i'm not sure if they'll catch it when reading quickly

I am afraid I left too many blank...I was aiming for a 500-550 math (I know, totally low for this board) however, I am not so good at math. English expecting very high.

Warcraft 3 is fun, you should try it. It involves funny noises, lots of clicking, math OH MY GOD MATH!!! THERE'S YOUR CUE!, luck, practice, and taunting opponents.

4-5 math blank and 2 wrong equals approx. what score?

Heard about it, but sounded too addictive for any good SAT crammer.

Well, FYI I have received a final grade of "A" in all of my High School Math courses, and I am currently enrolled in "Elementary Functions" (advanced Pre-Calc) and I currently have an "A" in that too. Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and now El. Func. (all Honors classes too). So, according to what I have learned and earned in High School, I should do well on the SAT Math right?

Whoa, dead wrong. DEAD wrong. :)

zoogies,
in the old SAT II Writing people were able to pull good scores (10-11) with a sentence or two missing, especially if the essay was fairly lengthy.

kittie_rocks,
my son has the worst handwriting I've ever seen. He pulled a 12 on his essay the second time around, so don't worry about the penmanship.

For college admissions purposes, I think most school will concentrate more on the math, cr, and the grammer sections of the test - at least until they decide how valid the essay is. Especially with the first few administrations, a good score will help you, but I really don't think a so-so score on the essay will do you in.
the old lady question referred to the quote that was like "She's so sweet. She hasn't changed a bit."

and the question stated something along the lines of her reaction to the quote shows that the statement was

..misinformed
etc.
i put that she was insulted.
