Since a few hours have passed, let's start to compile the answers that have -hopefully- been thoroughly discussed and verified. This thread is for the verbal and writing sections, including the essay.

As usual, let's keep the general discussions out of this thread.

does anyone remember the answers for the theaters passage? i didn't feel good at all about that one

plasticity was one

anyone willing to go over answers about chicago auditorium passage? i was spacing out by then (section 9) :[

OK, did you guys get that the "practice" was the : commercialization of culture, or government funding of the arts;

Did you say that he repeatedly used "convention" to disparage the current situation or exaggerate the role of tradition in the arts;

For the purpose of the opening paragraph, I said to illustrate the renovations that have recently taken place;

The bar has been recovered and restored,

The purpose of the description is to illustrate the unique quailities of something,

The purpose of his describing how they tore down the "masterpieces" was either to disparage it, or to poke lighthearted humor( I really don't remember this question, help me out!!)

i said the use of convention was to critize society

did people get 12pi or 6pi, i got 12

i put lighthearted humor...and commercialization of culture

i didnt put light hearted humor, i put the depracating one but it may have been to harsh

adidasty^2 i had those answers too, and for the convention thing i said to disparage

Agreed with all except "plasticity" (I think I put pertinicity or some word that had "pern" at the beginning) and the fooling people one--that was 99.9% chicanery

I got plasticity...so did a couple of my friend

Yeah, I thought that he used it not as lighthearted humor, but as criticism because he was saying all this heavy stuff. He said that they tore down masterpieces, and let the ugly crap get away. It sounded way too serious to be lighthearted.

rescued/relocated isn't verified... if the NY Metro was demolished, how could it have been rescued? wasn't it treasured/immitated?

No, cuz it implied that they used the same one. Meaning that they "rescued" the bar from being destroyed, and "relocated" it to St. Louis

Back to what I was saying, he couldn't have used it as lighthearted humor, he says that they destroyed the masterpieces, and let the more mediocre pieces stay. How does it sound like lighthearted jest? I need to know.

was indespensable one of the answers? i dont remember putting that down ERRRGH
