@ Yunsang
He asked for the purpose of the brocoli question. So it’s hard to tell what he wanted to know.

I never had malign.

TV Dinners:
main idea-to dispel a common misconception
broccoli- provide an example

No, what I’m saying is that in that part of the passage the author was not saying that his constantly variating portraits of Ben Franklin were bad, but instead part of who he as a painter was. Eclectic there would mean “not following any one system”.

And for the that question I believe that his reasons for opening the museum were because he genuienly wanted to impart knowledge.

^^General point is wrong. It’s to present an example. (broccoli)

And yes to impart knowledge.

for the broccoli one i said something about preventing misconceptions (one other choice was provide and alternative to a common social practice.)

500 years one

“revise a previous assertion”

Is that right?

Also, what was the question with “cadences”

which passage was the answer “appeal to authority” in.

Just to make sure, you guys all think the answer to the “500 years ago” question was to refute a previous assertion? I keep saying the word “assertion” implies a strong declaration rather than just a statement, but no one seems to want to respond to that.

There was a ■■■■■■■■ question that was asking about the experiments with guinea fowl and birds for the dinosaur one; was the general “series” the movement of birds feet, or the “entrance of birds feet into the ground?”

^^ I confirm with the impart of knowledge but not really the eclectic answer. I still think it was an artistic weakness.

Entrance of the feet into the ground I believe.

how did u guys do…i got 5 wrongs so far…is it good or not…?

The broccoli answer was not maligned vegetable, I know that for sure.

“Story began 500 years ago” contrasts a previous statement is NOT consolidated. I’m almost sure that ISN’T the answer.

Movement was already confirmed.

The 500 years ago was “revise a previous assertion”. Positive about that.

^^What is your answer then
^ Billabong, I believe “revise a previous assertion” and “contradict a previous statement” are the same answer choice. People just remembered it differently.

I thought the “500 years ago” one was a contrast to a previous assertion. The very first line of the passage was like… “The story started when I got the letter in the mail.” and then the sentence in question said that “The story actually started long before…”

It was something like: to lead into a point made later in the passage.

Not sure of the exact wording.
