March SAT CR Thread

It was not a physical stage.

Yeah I am probably wrong about the course of action, but the passages were:

Passage 1 was saying that although we would all love to see faithful adaptations of previous works, that’s not always going to happen. The author is conflicted in his beliefs of what how he wants these adaptations to play out.

Passage 2 was saying how fidelity, or a lack thereof, will just reiterate how good the original version was, in comparision with the new adaptations. The author does not reject or mock fidelity, but instead says thats its a needed gauge in comparing works of different ages.

Peale wasn’t even being criticized when talking about the Ben Franklin paintings, it was just being pointed out. Yes the author admired him, but he also had a weakness too.

what was the 2nd word in the the pair that had “animated” as the first?

I put phase even though it sounded awkward.

Aw man, good thing I changed “affection” to “admiration” xD

eclectic =/= eccentric. :stuck_out_tongue: a lot of people seem to have made this mistake.

^ Yeah exactly what sirena said. Most people seem to have chosen eclectic based off that assumption that it meant eccentric…

■■■ i think i’ve already missed three, ALL of them from the story of africa passage! how is that even possible…

what are your opinions on the curve and the relative difficulty of this CR? i’ve never taken the SAT before and i’m curious as to whether this was easier/harder than normal.

I personally thought this was a bit harder than normal, especially the vocab.

I think consensus vocab was harder, but passages were quite manageable, and not that difficult.

let’s say I got 10 wrong on this one …what’s this curve gonna look like
i got 16 wrong in december and it a 600…wow what embarassing data to post on here…

still dont understand why platform wasnt the answer

I thought it was like a place (i.e. platform) where things could happen

I put platform as well. Actually before reading the answers I was thinking its gotta be platform

edit wrong section lol

The answer is I only. But you’re on the wrong forum.

Mabs and Linger, I thought platform initially as well. But it’s phase. Platform sounds the best, but phase is the right answer.

Tanya was I only

i remember you mabs from the december act :D

The answer was phase, because the passage meant that in developed countries, the last [phase] of the evolution of the judicial system is to seperate politics and sensationalism.

Fix Dinosaur’s lower their feet first to Dinosaurs lower their heels first. It was first thought that they walk on their soles, but then the discovery showed that their heels went down first.

Other than that, I agree with everything that is there.

Also, here’s another way to look at the stage answer. Platform is the literal meaning of stage. Rarely does the SAT test the actual definitions in the passages.

lol @ tanya. was pretty easy. just spell out I, II, and III. Only I is possible (one of the letters was missing) Its definitely I only.

What do you guys think a 53 raw will be?
