March SAT Math Thread

^^ Everybody confirms?

^^ yes
if r= (-2)
and p = (3)

then rp - pr = 0

No, I’m talking about the problem asking the difference of the averages of the schools.

The function y = 3|x-4| + 2 does not have an absolute maximum.

Wasn’t it:

For a value 2N, N must be divisible by 8. Which of the following MUST be true?

?

Well really rp-pr is always 0 regardless of the values right? So just add it no there, no real need to discuss it.

i got 50 for the avg of school
i thought they were asking for the difference in the increase of students?

I thought that at first too, but I noticed the initial top school’s graph went down and the initial bottom school’s graph went above it so it didn’t make sense. So I just took the numbers of all the students each year and added them and took the avg, then took the difference of the avgs of both schools and it came out to be 0.

For the 2n one - Answer was II and III only.

absolute min was 4

average students was 0

arrghhhh 2 stupid mistakes >.< i had a 800 though so maybe colleges will look over my stupidity?.. Please?

A value of 2N is divisible by 8. The answer was definitely 2 and 4 (II and III)

Another one, the remainder problem I got an answer of 1 on.

B/c x /7, plugin x = 12 and the remainder is 5. Then, when you add 3 (12 + 3) / 7, the remainder is 1.

Confirm that the remainder one was 1.

^
Confirm the remainder 1. I got that too.

Santeria: Sounds experimental.

I got 93 for median temeprature and r = 10p.

@jersey

these were experimental i think:
2x is length of the side of the triangle
1/3 < r/t < 2 is the range

@anyone who remembers
was .2 an answer choice? for this: 0.4 probability of picking a value that is also in the second set

I remember getting 2/5 which is .4 but i may have put .2 if it was

.2 was an answer choice but the answer was .4.

It couldn’t have been 93. I don’t know how many of you have graphing calculators, but if you guys put all the #'s down on table 1 in the “stats menu” and did 1 VARS Stats, the question was a breeze.
