March SAT Math Thread

What GMA said. I got 93 and was pretty sure it said mean.

I am a very systematic math section test taker. If I saw the word mean, I would immediately jump to my calculator. If I saw the word median, I would immediately start ordering the numbers.

And I did the latter, thus it said median.

Everyone who was afraid to speak before (look at AvidStudent’s harsh posts) speak up now if you put 93.

I am a very systematic math section test taker. If I saw the word mean, I would immediately jump to my calculator. If I saw the word median, I would immediately start ordering the numbers.

And I did the former, thus it said mean.

Superexcited, your logic isn’t overly-convincing.

Super excited: anyone can say that. Let’s just see how many people though it said mean.

GMABCD, it takes me roughly 10 minutes to do the 25 minute math sections leaving me 15 minutes to do at least every question a second time and some a third.

Trust me, it was median.

It is not about being a good test taker or even being good at math. I am a strong math student as well. I have asked many kids in my school about this question. I read questions very well and I got 93. Most of the kids I asked got 93 as well. I don’t think anyone can be 100% sure. If one kid misread the question, I would understand your problem. But a lot of kids did…it sounds a little strange for so many to misread the same question. Don’t you agree? Maybe there were a trick that some of you did not understand. I think 93 is right.

We could debate this all you want, but when we get our tests back, then we will know who was right. But it’s median.

Except 50 pages of this thread have basically confirmed that it asked for the median. I realize many people will refuse to acknowledge an error in reading the question until they actually see the score seeing as I felt the same way after the January test.

The consolidated test list is always right, the answer is 88, and it said median, now shut the **** up and wait for your test to come back.

All I am asking is for everyone who put 93 to speak up. Jersey13 you made the consolidated list. Please allow others to voice their opinions

@Superkid94
There can’t be a trick involving median or mean. It’s either mean or median. Many people in my school put 93 as the answer as well, thinking it said mean. But it said median. I check over each of the questions on the math section.

And MattNC. Congrats if you did get it right. But perhaps you need anger management.

Math questions, unlike CR, cannot be opinionated… The consolidated list was developed over 48 hours of confirmations from over 100 CC members who took the March test.

Okay everyone- Have you ever made a mistake on a test before? Have you ever misread something? I find it a little strange that you are willing to bet 100% that you are right. Let others express their opinions. GMABCD: I agree with you. 93! Jersey13: You sound very confident, but let me know this: if you are so smart, is it that hard for you to comprehend that if it seems to be such an “argument” over the right answer, how can you really look yourself in the eyes and say you are DEFINITELY right? You are not the only bright one in this thread. 93 93 93 93 93 (we are allowed to voice our opinions in this thread…so for all the 93’s out there (which I am sure there are a lot of) please feel free to voice your thoughts/opinions.

Whether or not it said mean or median is obviously an opinion. One is fact but clearly a good amount of kids are having trouble remembering.

The answer is undoubtedly 88. There’s no room for discussion here. Move on.

Since when does agreement by a slim majority automatically validate something? Argumentum ad populum, eh?

Lol. No. Whether or not it said mean or median is objective, not an opinion (subjective).

^Agree with boston1993 answer was 93 confirmed.
