<p>I think it’s also really important to recognize that as much as concerned Northerners may be appalled at some of what takes place on UA’s campus, there are plenty of people there who are working for change. Rather than tell out-of-staters to “stay away,” I would encourage progressive-minded people to come and help dilute the influence of The Machine and other backwards institutions. </p>

<p>It’s easy to sit back on your high horse and criticize; why not come to UA and join with those who are trying to move the school forward? While it’s no doubt true some of these Greek organizations might not want anything to do with you (their loss!), the university itself welcomes students of all creeds and colors and is among the most transparent in the nation in how it accepts students and awards merit money, both in and out of state.</p>
