Marijuana

^within the next 5-10 years, it will be legal. Hell, even Obama smokes marijuana. And we can tax people and make a ***** load of money. Same with prostitution. People need to put their stupid morals behind them and look at the facts.

^I agree with you, though there are a few things I’d like to see legalized before weed is… I see this huge push to legalize weed, and that’s it.

Which is…??

California may legalize it if its proposition passes in November.

^^Firearms, explosives, and other weaponry. And I’d like to see all currently prescription medicines become over the counter medicines (or create a system in which someone can legally obtain any acceptable medicine without a doctor being involved).

For the firearms, explosives, and other weaponry, I refer you to the 2nd amendment.

For the prescription medicines, I’ll let you know that doctors kill people, and if you have to rely on a doctor to get your medicine your life is no longer in your hands, it’s in the doctors.

I think the whole country should legalize it. Just because it’s illegal doesn’t mean people aren’t going to do it. At least if we legalize it, we can actually MAKE money from it. With prostitution, we can be able to control it, make the women get checkups and tax the hell out of those women. Prostitution is never going to go away, it’s the oldest profession! Were the only country (with the exception of 3 others) that doesn’t legalize prostitution. I’ve written a speech and 3 research papers over it, I know how beneficial prostitution and weed would help our economy (even diseases, yes I know it doesn’t seem plausible but it’s true). People just need to open their eyes and do the research.

anything can be addicting…chemicals or no

Yes I know the 2nd amendment. But if you read closely on it, it says to right to bear arms when needed. It’s all jumbled in diction to make people think that they have the right to bear arms at any times. At APUSH we had to see what it really meant… Lol

It’s the reaction that’s addicting, not the drug. That’s why the majority of marijuana users do not get addicted. We learned this in psych because our teacher had to explain to use the difference between getting addicted because of the drug vs how our brain makes us addicted. There’s a difference

Regarding prostitution, I like the approach the Swedish(?) took. They made prostitution legal, but the act of paying for a prostitute illegal. Essentially, it removes any culpability from the women involved, with the purpose of ending the exploitation of prostitutes by pimps and malicious clients.

Or maybe I’m totally wrong.

^^^“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Does not anywhere say “when needed.” It does however say “the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

It doesn’t actually say “when needed” but looking behind all that diction there is a plothole which Why presidents can make it illegal, etc… Even my AP biology teacher was talking about it.

^Show me, don’t tell me what your teachers said. Give me some evidence that it’s at all acceptable based on the document which governs our entire system of government that it’s okay to ban weaponry.

Yes, it’s not for us to own a weapon, though. It’s only the militia it says it there. So no the 2nd amendment does not mean WE as people have the right to bear arms. It even gives clues and literally says it on the text. I think were talking about 2 different things haha.

And for prostitution, i would think that almost any country with a brothel is safe. Women get checkups every month, the client MUST have papers to prove that they don’t have an STD, and the woman is taxed.

^^I don’t think you know what a militia is… Infact, I don’t think you have any clue what you’re talking about, and I’m going to drop it here because I don’t see this going anywhere.

Just to help you out: [Militia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Militia - Wikipedia)

I know what a militia is. I’m saying that we can’t bear weapons it’s the right for a militia to bear arms. So we can’t go around shooting little squirrells for the hell of it, it’s for an actual standing militia to bear weapons.

“Because the constitution says so” is a terrible argument

Prostitution is clearly not the oldest profession. I have no idea why people call it that.

Well the rules we follow in society is based on the constitution. So yes, it’s a good argument when you’re debating about the constitution.

Considering you were alive back then to prove that prostitution isn’t the oldest profession? And yes, it is ONE of the oldest profession. Even in religion it is considered in the bible that prostitution has been around for many, many, many years.
