Marist 2025

Thanks all! She will have to reach out on Monday to see if there’s a problem.

Same thing happened to my daughter but she received nothing either way.

Has anyone filed an appeal for more aid? If you did was there a form online to do so?

We filed but haven’t heard back. There is an email to send request & supporting documentation to

No one received decision letter today?

still waiting to hear from admissions. Ridiculous at this point! Marist was never at the top of the list, so won’t be terribly upset. But still extremely annoying

We are still waiting. Nothing today either. Starting to get worried for her as Marist is her top choice.

D just got deferred to rd. Very nice letter though encouraging her to submit any updates or visit school etc.

DD deferred, which does not surprise me because of special circumstances. Now she just has to decide if she’s still interested.

How was she notified?

How was she notified? EMail or snail mail?

Snail mail here. Her friend also deferred and also snail mail. Both received the letters on Saturday.

Honestly, with so much sharing online, the way the handle this is hard on the kids.

Yes, it feels like more people share good news and then the kids feel like everyone else got in except them. My D applied to a wide range of schools in terms of acceptance rates snd she has gotten into some hard ones and rejected or deferred from some lesser. It all feels like a crap shoot!

There is no rhyme or reason to this process! I have had 2 kids go through it and it’s so stressful.

Sending out a bunch of acceptances in December and waiting on the deferrals until the last minute wasn’t great. And I agree that some schools are looking for different things so you don’t know. My D applied to a lot of schools and was accepted at a lot of them. She’s got good choices and is researching them.

Sounds like no one got rejected. Just deferred? We haven’t gotten our Saturday mail yet but I saw a small letter from Marist on the USPS informed delivery dashboard. I assumed it was a rejection but now thinking it may be a deferral. TBH the school has a movie ready campus but seemed to be out of our reach financially even if aid were given because so much aid would be needed for it to come into range of other schools for us.
I can see above where not so much aid was offered to students with higher stats than my daughter. Oddly her sister who attends another school as a freshman gets many emails about transferring to Marist for spring 2021 and beyond but she never applied there or showed any interest in the school such as something as minor as joining the email list.

D”s first choice is BU and she also got deferred from ED there. Marist out of our financial range as well and she has her heart set on a big city We are just waiting until all acceptances and fa offers are out then we can visit (hopefully) and balance money and desire. :slightly_smiling_face:
She is the last of four and I’ve seen them fall in love with a school they claimed to despise and the opposite!

@Zanda0712 I am keeping my fingers crossed that your D both gets into BU and receives a great FA package! But as you said, it can change during the process to what becomes the ‘right’ school and she will find her spot.

Thank you, Sapphire_G. Is Marist your daughter’s first choice?
