Who did you send the email to for more merit money? I need to send an email to ask for more assistance also. Did you send the request through your daughter’s portal email your personal email
Also, did you ask for the extra amount you needed or you asked for more money? just curious if I should give an amount
@Journey83 i called AO & then she emailed the address they gave me. She sent other offers & senior year grades & wrote a letter. We asked for a specific amount.
thank you
I am just curious if you got a response, my daughter needs more money to attend as well.
@laventers it was in her portal today with the financials
Was it a grant or more scholarship money?
Merit
This is helpful, Thank you!
We didn’t get an email or anything but the financial awards are posted on the my marist page and saw the $ there. Good luck!
Has anyone who appealed for more merit aid recently heard back? I wrote 10 days ago, and am hoping to hear back soon as the deadline for me to deposit is the 15th!
I appealed mid Dec & heard last week. They didn’t contact us though it was on the portal under financials . You need the info that was just sent from IT to access it.
Anyone get a rather odd email about Marist’s honor college today? Daughter got an email that was full of congratulations but then was just an email to confirm her interest in a “nomination” to the honors college. It was vague and unclear if she was accepted or not. Probably one of the poorest written communications I’ve seen from any college thus far.
Hi…my son received the same e-mail. He confirmed his interest right away since Marist is a top choice. One of the schools he was accepted to actually rescinded his invitation to its Honors College because they never heard back from him (he received acceptance letter in November), space is limited, etc. So he was quick to confirm interest.
If we haven’t received information yet about the honors college do you think that means we aren’t invited?
Hi…I think they are gauging initial interest to determine how many spaces they will have to offer official spots. Most of my son’s schools sent the Honors College invitations with the regular acceptance letter. But so many applicants (like him) end up not responding right away waiting to hear from all schools which ties up spots for other eligible students. So based on response, there could be another waive of invitations. I also read that you can apply on your own during Freshman year should you choose to pursue. Good luck!
Thank you. I was kind of disappointed to not have received one especially as I have been demonstrating interest in the school for a year and a half and the honors program for a few months but maybe it is for the best. Congrats to your son!
Thank you. My son loves it. He’s on Marist 360 if you’re there. He attended a Webinar with the Marist Poll last night. Political Science. And don’t worry, if you don’t get an invitation now, you can learn about it, talk to students in the program and make an informed decision if it’s something you want to pursue, and then go for it. This is actually better
We paid the deposit. Daughter on Marist 360. She loves it. No honors invite but I told her she could apply after 1st semester if interested. She is doing a comm dual concentration towards a 5 year masters program. We love the school. We went to accepted students day this past weekend & I continue to be impressed with the school
I saw that you had appealed for more aid. Can you tell much how much more your daughter received after the appeal?
