I haven’t found a thread like this when I ran a search so I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions regarding this topic.

Does a major exist where you enter marketing but rather than focusing on marketing strategies in general, focus on how to expand a company’s brand/products/services to other countries? Just pure strategies that focus on international culture.

Do I HAVE to know foreign languages well to enter something like that? If it’s just marketing strategies, wouldn’t I just have to know how to appeal to those people and their culture? I’m really strong in creativity and have experience in marketing for different niches, but my foreign language learning ability is deplorable.

I doubled majored in Intl. Business and Marketing (graduating in a month!) because I had the same feeling you have in point #1. I'm not sure how every university goes about this, but I was able to double count 1 class for both majors, and I think it was up to 3 classes (9 units) that you could double count. I just took all the courses I wanted to and they wouldn't be able to really double count. What you could do is look at course descriptions and see which marketing classes have an international flair to them (like a course titled International Marketing) or vice versa for Intl. Business courses.

I would say you don't have to know the foreign language fluently, but understanding culture is vital if you are doing marketing (or any business for that matter).
