Hi. I just realized that in order to be considered for Marquis Scholarship, it is encouraged that students apply a few weeks earlier than the deadline. I applied for RD so my deadline is Jan 15. I just knew this recently so I submitted my app on Jan. 09. Do I miss the opportunity? Also, for those who received the scholarships through ED, can you share your stats so I can have a general idea?
Thank you.
The Office of Admissions says that all students are considered for the Marquis Scholars. But because the scholarship is awarded to the only 15% (about 90-100 students), and the ED students are reviewed first, I would say your chance is quite slim. At the end of the day, though, it all comes down to how the applicant pool is. Many friends of mine do not receive Marquis but still get sufficient financial aid, so no worry.
I was awarded the scholarship in ED1. My stats are … basically, 2200 SAT, 800 SAT Math, 790 SAT Physics
@ursawarrior wow congrats! also really impressive stats as well. Thank you
@MollyN you’re welcome. Good luck with your application.
Thank you!
Anyone else receiving their awards please share your stats here as it would help a lot! Thanks.
My S was invited to campus to interview for Marquis Fellows. He has a 35 ACT, 4.4 weighted GPA, 4.0 uw - 3 varsity sports, good work and volunteer experience. Very thrilled for him. Lafayette is in his top two schools as of now!
How were the invitations tendered? Phone, email, carrier pigeon…
thanks
We got an email, but it said they were also overnighted to us. We didn’t get the FedEx. Maybe Monday?
