<p>If you're planning to go on for an advanced degree Gender Studies might be a good choice for you. It's one of the majors I'm planning on and it sounds fascinating.</p>
<p>Marriage/family counselors usually have a master's degree. Some states license these counselors so they may be covered under health insurance while some states do not recognize them as independent health providers. To get into these master level programs you will probably need some psychology courses, likely equivalent to having a minor in psych. Some programs may require more extensive background in psychology. Check out a representative program in this area on their website and go to requirements for admission to see what they are looking for in terms of undergraduate preparation. (google search marriage/family master's programs).</p>
