I just read on the Carnegie Mellon University website that there have been no seats available for transfer students since the past few years for Tepper School of Business.

I have one spot empty on my list - which one of the following are the most prestigious:
1) Indiana's Kelley (the problem with this school is not a great overall reputation)
2) Wake Forest's Calloway (A good overall school but the business school is not that popular as compared to Tepper)
3) Boston C's Carroll (Nice ranking in USNEWS and Businessweek...but this school doesn't seem to be popular either)
4) BYU's Marriott (Excellent Accounting program but the overall ranking is not good at all)

I know that I find problems with all of them. Can you tell me which one of the above should I apply to?

Here are my stats:
La Guardia CC
GPA: 3.8 - 65 credits
EC's: many
High School GPA: 3.3
Major: Accounting

Monday bump! I need immediate assistance

all i can speak of is Kelly. Indiana would be a huge culture shock if you've never been to the midwest. also, drinking starts on thursdays(i.e. huge party school).
i think Kelly is very overrated, personally. i think Smeal/ UofI 's buiness schools would be better options.

Prestige is an awful reason to select a school.

Prestige is the most honest reason to select a school.

Unfortunately, I wonder if anyone can answer my actual question?

My son's at Kelley and doing well there, but he misses California and has been unhappy with how they handle their honors admission, so he is applying as a transfer to USC. He'll stay at Kelley if USC doesn't accept him--which is actually fairly likely since his last semester's grades weren't up to the same level as the first two semesters'.

Certain programs at Kelley are phenomenal--for example, they have the best Investment Banking program in the country in my view--and their Business Law program is ranked fourth in the country (for undergraduates), and the finance program is ranked seventh in the country. On the other hand, the accounting program is somewhat weak (although they are working on it) and they need more courses on leadership development in my son's view.

If you are applying as a transfer and as a finance major and have already taken the computer courses, apply simultaneously for the Investment Banking program by contacting Dr. David Haeberle, the program coordinator. They actually picked the participants last September, but I think they allow qualified transfers in also if they apply at the same time they submit their applications to Indiana.

Here's the link to the Investment Banking program. Check out their IB placement last year--100% to IB firms.

Good luck.

P.S. One unusual skill required is that you need to be good with spreadsheets to be admitted to the program.
