I got into the Honors program. If you got the letter, I think you’re in, so I don’t think they consider your senior year grades. I believe it’s your weighted GPA, the GPA UC calculates for you when you apply, so I don’t think your freshman year grades were considered.

On the TMC website, it says this: All eligible students are automatically notified by letter and monitored quarterly.

So I assume that means if you got the letter about the honors program, you’re in, because that’s all the notification I remember getting.

It’s really not a big deal… I asked Emily Gonzales, the honors program coordinator, about the program, and she affirmed that it’s a recognition of having a high GPA. If you like the Honors seminar, that’s great, but I’ve never signed up for it. Nor do I know anyone who has.

If you want solid answers to your questions, you could email Emily Gonzales at emjgonzales at ucsd.edu

I didn’t get a letter inviting me to the honors program. I have a 3.65 unweighted and a 4.12 weighted GPA. So it’s only for unweighted? That really sucks…

If it’s a top % of the applicants… :S Well, something like that should be printed on the site, shouldn’t it? Did you meet the SAT requirement too? (scoring at least 700 in each section)
