So I'm going to be coming into Martel college this fall, and I was wondering what traditions and cool stuff I have to look forward to. I've read a little about the stuff on the Martel website, but any insider's experiences?

Martel is not a college

@joanlawson A “college” at Rice is a reference to a dorm building. So OP is asking about residential living at Martel college.

@ScienceGirlMom - “Martel is not a college” is a Rice expression, made by members of the non-Martel colleges.

@denali21 Interesting, I learned something new!

I recommend just showing up and taking it in when you get there. Your OWeek advisors will have fun ways to get you caught up on the traditions and teach you what you need to know (including trying to convince us that Martel is a college, even though it isn’t ;))
