Mary Donlon Hall

Hi! I was assigned a double on the fourth floor of Mary Donlon Hall. I can't find a floor plan so I'm wondering where room 436 is in relation to the middle and ends of the dorm since from what I've heard; rooms toward the middle are larger. Also how do the bathrooms work? Is it coed bathrooms only? Someone please elaborate on that. Also how big are closets and is there any additional furniture/fans or stuff i should bring? thank you i would really appreciate detailed answers!!!

I can answer a few of these. For one thing, the bathrooms are pretty spread out among the rooms, some are coed some are single gender, usually the single gender rooms are close to the areas where a group of single gender rooms is placed. And as for the closets, no, they are not big. If I had to estimate I’d say that they are about 2-2.5 feet across, and about 1-1.5 feet deep. You can’t fit too much in there, but that’s probably why you get a dresser as well as a closet. You don’t get a fan in the room, so yeah, you should probably bring one, thought you won’t use it for the majority of the year. As for the middle/end debate, Donlon is shaped really weird, so saying whether its towards the end or towards the middle is hard to really say, but I’m fairly sure 436 is towards the end of one of the halls.

Hi! Very recent (last year) resident here, 436 should be near the middle actually, but the disparity in room size is only really evident in the last room on the hall (they’re tiny). There is one single sex bathroom of each sex and one coed bathroom on each floor, one per each “spike” of the triangle configuration. Above poster is right about the closets, and you should bring a fan (it gets hella hot at beginning and end of the year and the windows barely open) and a big lamp (there is no overhead lighting in Donlon it’s terrible).
