Does anyone know if their BFA program is any better than a BA in Theatre Performance?

I transfered out of their program a year ago. The BFA Acting program isn’t bad, but the musical theatre track is a bit of a joke, and if you’re in just BA Performance, don’t expect intensive training. The academics are laughable and reminded me of freshman year in high school. The theatre faculty and staff are wonderful people, but the administration of the school (Judd Shaver is an arrogant, selfish, idiot) prevent them from reaching the full potential of their teaching talents. The transfer rate is very high, which i’m sure you’ve noticed if you looked into it. I would say, if you have your heart set on being in NYC for school, it might be worth it, but that’s a lot of money to spend on sub-par training for a field that is already difficult to be successful in.

I am actually transferring becuase i am very disappointed at school. they have messed up my money situation and it really like upper east side. so if you dont like the people in gossip girl don’t go to this school.
if you a guy coming out come to this school, if you are a guy or girl looking for the opposite sex dont come here
and if you like alot of competition come here becuase its all competition

My D is a freshman in the BA performance MT minor this year. She is enjoying her first semester at the school and living in NYC. She loves going to dance each day and is really learning alot in her acting class and with her voice teacher. D has a great group of friends at school who are all very talented. D said that the program here (like anywhere) has alot to do with what you make of it.

The academic classes have not been difficult for my D who came in with enough credits from AP’s and college courses in hs to be a sophomore. D is looking at taking a piano class at Hunter College next semester and maybe also declaring an Art History minor. She is very happy with her choice so far.

Has anyone here know anything about the Theatre Studies track? Nobody I’ve had the chance to talk to knows much about it, so if you are a student/know any students in this program, that would be really helpful. I’m also looking to minor in Arts Management.

Does anyone know what TIME the whole audition day started at. im suppose to have PMEA District 12 Auditions that day and will get out at latest 10am. I assume I cant go that day. .Itll take me 3 hours to get to the school!
