I guess I'm in the same boat as you guys... i'm a recruited athlete (football) and the coach that recruited me told me on saturday that i was headed straight into the academy... but still i haven't heard anything and my application has been complete for about a week and a half now. everything's in except nomination and medical stuff, but i only got my canidate kit in early march so i guess thats to be expected? i dunno, im ready to get appointed!!

Wait Mark did your coach mention anything about you needing to get a nomination. B/c I'm not sure on this but I thought they were un-availble at this time, so late in the game. Who knows maybe if your a IC, there is a exception, hopefully there is. Any of you "upperclassman" ;).haha. Understand his situation? B/c I'm confused. PREP SCHOOL?

Ok, I got so frustrated I finally called the Admissions counselor. She was wonderful! She pulled up the file and saw that they have reviewed the file, but they are waiting on the medical info we are suppose to send in. Now, because of this WONDERFUL privacy act that is in place, I am still fighting to get medical records! I have been at this for over 6 weeks now!

So, the good news for us, not rejected, still waiting!

This is why I love forums, they tend to be very helpful!

Got my appointment yesterday! Came in a folder that had an orientation overview, a general Academy overview, and some forms to sign my life away. I'm so pumped about not having to worry about this on a day to day basis. It's like a huge weight is off my shoulders.
It was a very nice start to my spring break..

Appointee Kit came yesterday! :) It feels strange knowing that they already have a PO Box number designated for each of us, but it was pretty cool to write out the address for my mom and see the words "Basic Cadet" in front of my name. It's the simple things in life, I guess. :)

Good luck to you Runnin Rat! Be sure to let us know how it goes. I'm going to be in Mexico until next Sunday, so I won't be posting for about a week, but I hope everything goes well for ya'll!

Haha, we posted at the same time... Let me be the first to offer congratulations! That's awesome Luke!

Later guys :)

Congradulations Luke another 2006TAC attendee. Look forward to seeing you soon. I'll be in CS 23-24.

im just wondering, does a person who has their app taken to the panel in march receive notification sooner than a person who has their app taken to the panel in an earlier month, like nov, dec, jan.? or is it all relatively the same?

It just depends. If your app is reviewed by the board and they want to give you an appointment, you will receive your appointment sooner if it was reviewed in Dec than if it was reviewed in March. However, your app can be reviewed multiple times by the board. The appointment won't necessarily come earlier just because it was reviewed earlier. Unless, of course, the board found you worthy of an appointment of one of the earlier reviews. Hope this helps. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Well put, it all depends.

makes sense, thanks a lot for the help

Yay Redhead! Maybe I'll get my appointee kit soon too....what was in it?

Is the appointment kit any different than the appointee booklet that is in the " selections" section of the admissions directorate webpage? Anyone in or near Georgia got their packet yet? Hopefully mine will come soon.

Mitchell1311 S got his Saturday via regular mail. We are in Albany.

Ok, thanks. Hopefully mine will come today. I'm in Macon.

We know you! Stratford right we talked. He goes to Deerfield.

Yeah! I thought it may be you from the name. Are y'all going to orientation?

i saw that the deadline to accept the offer of appointment is may 1st. ive heard that some people were extremely late and got their appointments after may 1st and even in june, is this true?

as people deny their appointments, more go out until they fill up. I have a friend at Annapolis who received his ONE WEEK before inprocessing. Same policy applies for USAFA.
