Material for Teacher Recommendations

I am an international student and I want to help my teachers write their teacher recommendations in the best way possible. They haven't written one before for a past student going to the States.

Do you know of any legit links of tips that can help teachers write their recommendations? Plus any other material that is good for them to know about?

I have written a brief summary of what I enjoyed about their classes in a letter. Is there any other information I should give them, such as an activities resume or something?

I need both tips for me and for the teachers, in this situation. Any help is very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Yes, I would give them an activities resume.

If they are snail mail letters - envelopes, with postage paid. Already addressed.
If not - info where to send.

Include list of schools and dates letters MUST be mailed, along with a date you are requesting they be mailed.

Write thank you notes when they are done. Handwritten.

If appropriate, after your acceptance, write a note letting them know where you are going, and maybe a small token of your appreciation.

Should the resume be about the activities i had the same year i had their class or can it be of my whole high school years?

Are there any good websites that can give them tips or any material online that could help them write their recommendation?

Thank you.

The resume should be in categories something like this.

Honors and Awards
School Activities
Community Involvement
Summer and Work Activities

I don’t know about the other - I would suggest a good old-fashioned google search.

Thank you, MaterMia :)
